I can not think back on a time Carol and I had together, that was not fun.  I think one of my fondest memories of her was in Mr. Siemsens' Geography Class.  Mr. Siemsen had ordered some movies to be shown in class.  One of them was about Quebec, Canada.  The movie was in French.  I thought I was being funny, so I raised my hand and told Mr. Siemsen that Carol was fluent in French.  He was impressed, and asked her to translate the movie for the rest of the class.  Without batting an eye, Carol got up, stood in front of the class, and adlibbed the entire movie, and it was believable that she knew what she was talking about.  When class was over, I do not want to repeat what she all had to say to me, for putting her on the spot, but we laughed for years about that.

That is just one of many memories I have of Carol, and I can not think of her, without smiling.  She was a good friend, and a joy to be around.  I am happy she was a part of my life, and I had the opportunity to tell her that, a few weeks before she died.  For that, I am thankful!

Au Revoir, my friend!  We will meet again!
